1938 Schwinn Autocycle Arnold, Schwinn & Co., Chicago, Illinois
The Autocycle was the height of Schwinn’s 1930s design and dominance.
The Autocycle was fully decked with accessories and gadgets, making it
a higher-end bicycle for the time period. The chrome handlebars hid the
electric wiring for buttons for the horn and the illumination of the Stewart
Warner speedometer. The dual electric headlights could be turned on
using a switch on the top of the tank. The Autocycle helped standardize
some of the Schwinn-patented features that sold with great success.
